Toward carbon neutrality by 2050, we must reduce CO\uff12<\/sub> emissions while maintaining socioeconomic activities. As a way to achieve this, the use of heat energy from renewable energy and the combustion of decarbonized fuels (hydrogen and ammonia) is being considered, and research and technological development of carbon dioxide \"non-generation methods\" is underway. On the other hand, To reduce carbon dioxide emissions, it is considered important to use a technology called \"carbon recycling,\" in which carbon dioxide is consumed, or in other words, effectively used as a new resource.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The  Carbon Recycling Energy Research Center is established at Ibaraki University aims to develop and societally implement carbon neutral technologies in the area of heat utilization, which is difficult to electrify. CRERC conducts research and educational activities focusing on the \"development of carbon recycling technologies\" as well as the \"development of technologies for the safe use of decarbonized fuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the development of carbon recycling technology, we will promote research on the three pillars of carbon dioxide capture, fuel synthesis, and highly efficient use of fuels, with the aim of implementing carbon recycling technology in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In particular, energy is required for CO2<\/sub> capture and fuel synthesis, and we aim to develop a method that significantly reduces this energy compared to existing methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through research and technological development at CRERC, we hope to contribute to the promotion of carbon neutrality in Hitachi City and Ibaraki Prefecture where we based.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, I promise that we\u2019re able to share new technologies with the world and contribute to the reduction of CO2<\/sub> emissions, which is a global problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
